Anonymous calls for help fighting Isis 'Daeshbags'

'Hacktavist' group Anonymous has appealed for help to continue attacking Isis online.

The vigilante group declared "cyber war" on the jihadist group following the Paris attacks - vowing to "bring down" the group online.

Anonymous needs more help from security services, who are either ignoring Isis websites or do not have the skills to shut them down, supporters of the group told Sky News in their first TV interview since their declaration.

A small specialist group within Anonymous, dubbed Ghost Sec, claimed to have taken down more than 100 propaganda websites and 25,000 social media accounts.

They have also posted Viagra adverts on websites believed to belong to the group and superimposed pictures of ducks and goats on Isis imagery.

A man dubbed "Comedi" said: "I think that (the security services) are either ignoring it, don't know how to do it, or they don't have the time or the manpower.

"I guess if I had to do this as a job, I'd do it for eight hours a day and try to forget about it. As for us, the only break we get is when we're working or sleeping."

But security experts have questioned the effectiveness of their attacks and said the group have wrongly targeted innocent people.

According to Anonymous, Ghost Sec has Arabic speakers who translate web pages and insist they double-check all targets before they attack.

It comes as the group announced 11 December would be a "trolling day" against Isis - also known as Daesh - who they have dubbed "Daeshbags".

Anonymous has called on its supporters to post photos mocking the group online and print them out to put up around cities across the world as well as disrupting their online communications.

In a statement on its website, it said: "They thrive off of fear they hope that by their actions they can silence all of us and get us to just lay low and hide in fear.

"On December 11th we will show them that we are not afraid,we will not just hide in our fear, we are the majority and with our strength in numbers we can make a real difference.

"We will mock them for the idiots they are."
