Microsoft Office 365 down: Outage hits email accounts and cloud services across Europe

Published 03/12/2015

Microsoft is experiencing a serious outage across Europe and possibly around the world as users are unable to access Office 365 emails.

Users began experiencing intermittent issues accessing its Azure cloud computing platform around 9am on Thursday, according to the Microsoft Azure support website.

The company says its engineering teams have identified what's causing the outage - an Azure Active Directory configuration error - and are working to resolve it.

Countries in western and northern Europe have been impacted most.

Frustrated customers have taken social media to complain as they cannot access their Outlook emails.
