Skype down: firm still working to restore video-calling service for some users
Skype has been working to get its video-calling service back up and running for many users.
Affected users are unable to start Skype calls with their contacts, who show up as offline even if they have signed in to the service.
Users in the UK are suffering the most, according to The Inquirer.
The problems are reported to have started around 9.15am UK time.
Skype said via its website: "We have identified the network issue which prevented users from logging in and using Skype today. We're in the process of reconnecting our users, and focused on restoring full service."
Instant messaging is unaffected, and users are reporting Skype for Web has not been hit by the problems.
The issue did not affect Skype for Business users.
