What is Tele Recommends?

Asked to name Northern Ireland's five best health spas, Katrina recommends...

Utopia Holistic Beauty, 154 Cregagh Road, Belfast, 028 9050 1122

A little gem of wonder in east Belfast. Utopia is around the corner from where I live and is my regular beauty salon. It is like a mini day spa with a gorgeous relaxation room where you can unwind and have a little snooze and a green tea before heading back out into the real world. The owner, Cheryl, really has ‘the gift' and is a fantastic therapist who even makes waxing fun! I love their holistic treatments like Thai foot massage and Hopi Ear Candling as well as Environ and Decleor facials and body treatments.

Slieve Donard Spa, Down Road, Newcastle, 028 4372 1066

Espa is a world renowned spa brand and their body treatments are outstanding. Both of the Hastings’ spas at the Culloden and Slieve Donard are fantastic but Slieve Donard pips it for me with the relaxation area which looks out at the beach at Newcastle with Slieve Donard sweeping down to the sea. There's nothing as comforting as sitting in the jacuzzi in a state of pure relaxation and cosseting warmth and looking out the huge glass windows and seeing nature do its worst against the shore — pure bliss!

The Spa at The Merchant Hotel, Skipper Street, Belfast, 028 9023 4888

The Spa at The Merchant Hotel is a super-luxurious experience in the hidden basement of a bustling city centre location. The newly launched Bee Venom Facial by celebrity facialist Deborah Mitchell is an experience not to be missed.

The Canal Court Spa, |Merchants Quay, Newry, 028 3025 1234

I'm very proud to be from Newry so I might be biased but the spa at the Canal Court really knocked me for six. As much as the Canal Court is well known for it's quality — the spa really is something out of this world and the prices of the packages are super-affordable. This is crazy bargain luxury!

The Beauty Company, 2-12 Montgomery Street, Belfast, 028 9033 2546

A lot of beauty salons and spas are all about relaxing and having a lovely time but if you want a city centre salon with amazing quality treatments that really get results then The Beauty Company is the place to go. The Danné facial range is transforming client's skins, treating acne and roscaea with incredible results.
