What is Tele Recommends?

Asked to name Northern Ireland's five best men's boutiques, he recommends...

Yoke, Wellington Street, Belfast, 028 9145 3157

Yoke in Belfast is by far one of my favourite shops. Alistair Beverly, the brains of the operation, has been working in men's fashion for as long as I can remember. In fact, I remember first buying clothes from him when I was just 15. The shopping experience is first class and he has a great eye for what will suit you and hence there is never a hard sell. Yoke specialises in European and British designer-wear. It is the place I go for timeless key pieces that people always comment on.

Excel Clothing , Main Street, Newtownards and Main Street, Bangor, 0844 384 3800

Brands Barbour, Boss, Ted Baker and True Religion immediately spring to mind when I think of Excel. Friendly staff, bright open and airy stores and the latest season wears from lots of well-known brands. They also stock great accessories, from bags and wallets to wash bags and belts.

Rio, Bradbury Place, Belfast, 028 9032 5504

Rio Menswear in Belfast is a store that offers great customer service. DJ around town Steve Simpson is the buyer for the store and a warm welcome is always ensured when you walk through the doors. Value for money, sharp lines and smart wear springs to mind when I think of Rio's stock. Circle of Gentleman shirts are extremely popular with their customer base.

North Clothing, Chichester Street, Belfast, 028 9050 7700

Tweed jackets, trilby hats and brogues are the order of the day in this store. Traditional clothing with a modern twist is the theme, they have some very cool wares and a place to shop for that special occasion. A purchase from North will be in your wardrobe for a very long time.

Clockwork, New Row, Coleraine and Fairhill Shopping Centre, Ballymena, 028 7032 9100

Jeans of all shapes and all cuts! Replay, Diesel and Tommy Hilfiger are amongst the brands available here. If you're looking for mainstream fashion this is the place. They always have a great selection of T-shirts.
