In Pictures: The Apollo hoax theories
Saturday, 13 March 2010
Where are the stars?
The pictures taken from the surface of the moon show a black sky, but space is full of stars. Where are they?
The stars are there, they are just too faint. The lunar landscape is lit by the sun and you're taking pictures of a man in a white (space) suit. So you set a fast aperture speed on your camera, and hence the distant stars are too faint to be seen.
Few event in world history have generated quite so many conspiracy theories than the Apollo moon landings.
But do they stand up? Here are the best reasons why it couldn’t have happened, and the rebuttals. Of course, you may disagree.

JB. So which unmanned mission placed 3 lasers on the moons surface exactly? I`m all ears! While you`re desperately chasing that blind alley jog along to your local Blockbuster and rent "In the shadow of the moon". Its a documentary with the surviving moon walkers talking about their memories of Apollo.. watch that and then tell me every one of these guys is acting!! If you have no clue what you`re talking about sometimes its probably best to say nothing!

Firstly, why promote this ridiculous lunar landing hoax bunk? It's be disproved ad-infinitum. The only thing that is served by repeating these bizarre claims is to lend them a veneer of credibility.
Secondly, could an actual journalist or editor please look over the copy and correct the many glaring mistakes that make a lot of this article almost impossible to read.

Why on Earth is this nonsense being presented as if it were even remotely possible that it was a hoax? What's it going to be next? The BT publishing 9/11 conspiracy theories (which, incidentally, are a lot more widespread than the Apollo hoax theories)?

Merv
You don't need man to have walked on the moon to have placed a reflector device.
Unmanned missions anybody?

Do a Google for 'Lunar Laser Ranging Experiment'. End of story. NASA did go to the Moon.
However, I do think NASA faked some of the pictures. But, that's not the same as faking the entire thing.

Next you'll be telling me that Capricorn wasn't based on fact.
I knew that OJ Simpson guy couldn't be trusted, but James Brolin and Elliott Gould as well? Scandalous.
This now leaves me in a position of doubt in respect of the true facts portrayed in "The Amityville Horror." Damn you, James Brolin!

I'm pretty sure it was a hoax.

come on BT, seriously? anyone with a bit of common sense and a basic knowledge of school physics can disprove all of these reasons. why must you promote and incite this rubbish??

Merv, I'm glad to hear someone speaking sense over this issue.
The moon landings have been the most scrupulised event of the 20th century. Not one shred of evidence to deny them has ever stood up to close examination.
But then again, there are idiots on this planet who still beleive that Elvis is alive - go figure!

Why oh why do these morons keep trying to question the moon landings? You only need knowledge of one piece of irrefutable evidence to shut these tiresome idiots up once and for all. Apollo missions 11, 14 and 15 all left reflective devices on the lunar surface that we can still bounce a laser beam off to measure the orbit and rotation etc. This has happened every single day since. So HOW exactly.. if we never actually went to the moon... Mr Hoax.. is this possible??? No rush... take your time...

Why not follow up a fake landing on the moon with another one on Mars?
