Chelsea: potential summer transfer targets from Tevez to Modric

Having signed up reserve keeper Hilario to a new deal, goalkeepers don't appear to be a necessity for Chelsea, yet they could do with some additions in defence. One option may be Uruguayan central defender Diego Godin, who was recently quoted saying he was "honoured" by the interest shown in him by the Blues. Godin, who was part of the Uruguay team that reached the semi-finals of the World Cup, claims he was the subject of a bid from the Blues in January but Atletico but a stop to the move.
Chelsea endured a poor season (by Roman Abramovich's standards), finishing second in the league and being comfortably beaten by Manchester United in the Champions League. Manager Carlo Ancelotti paid the price.
