By common consent, it was a disappointing tournament that offered scarce entertainment and too many ordinary matches, with one team - Grand Slam champions France - head and shoulders above the rest.

Here, PA Sport's rugby union correspondent Andrew Baldock identifies those players who rose above the mediocrity.
