I'm a Sunderland fan, and i wouldn't say we're the best supporters in europe but we get a better support than some of the so-called 'big' teams like Chelsea, Lyon etc and we've won nothing. We've got nothing to shout about but we travel around the country and the world in pre-season in our thousands to watch our team, not many big european teams travel well, all the people slating the Jocks, i'll agree they aren't a force in Europe but they travel well to support their team so give them some credit.

That coment posted by Gerry is a disgrace. Celtic arent might in Europe, your havin a laugh. Weve beat man u, Ac Milan, Shaktar Donesk, Juventus, Porto, Benfica & to say were no might in the SPL against Rangers would have won the League 3 times in a row if we were not might in the league. Come back and coment on Celtic when you know anythin about us. BEST SUPPORT IN THE WORLD

You can't have a AFL franchise unless your stadium can seat more than 80,000.

Liverpool are a pathetic bunch of no hopers that are only interested in football when they are winning. As for the so called mighty Celtic, they compete in a league which historically amounts to a very private two-horse race. (with a very very big gap between them and the rest of the SPL) Celtic FC don't deserve to sit at the same table as MU).

Will the moderators be "banning" sean following his provocative comments?
No, because some provocative comments are more tolerable than others, eh mods?
PS for once I agree with mark. It must be a different mark!

I know enough to know that whatever the average man united fan lacks in basic football knowledge he/she more than makes up for in football shirts.

Mark - after a comment like that I'm guessing you're an Arsenal fan as I haven't met one yet who knows anything about football. You should get together with Sean the Celtic fan and try to create a brain cell between the two of you.

remarakable that Newcastle United, a team which has won nothing in thirty odd years and which is being destroyed by its present owners have so many attending?
In terms of best supported club, we win by a MILE.

Mark wise up sunshine, you clearly know nothing about either united fans or football.

Well sean i think if cletic and gers joined the EPL they can wave goodbye to champions league football. They havent a hope of breaking the top 4.

Sean - care to tell us all what is "mighty" about Celtic? Sure, they're mighty when sixty-odd thousand turn up to see them hammering the likes of Kilmarnock, Hamilton and (sometimes) Falkirk but they're hardly mighty against Rangers, Cliftonville or virtually any team they've come up against in Europe in recent years. Furthermore, as is the case with their not-so-mighty rivals across the city, Celtic's support has a political and religious agenda which is not tolerated anywhere outside Scotland (with the obvious exception of Northern Ireland) and would certainly not be tolerated in England. Premier League? Forget it - because although Celtic fans have a better behavioural record of late than Rangers fans, the risk is always there.

This article talks of the 'best ' supported clubs and not the largest attendances/biggest ground which is what these rankings represent. Most genuine football fans would laugh at the suggestion that Man utd has the 'best' fans. There is lack of atmoshere, football knowledge and dignity on permanent display at old trafford.

Sean - if you mean to totally disrespect a minute of silence to remember fallen soldiers, or throw bananas and make monkey noises at black players then absolutely we need Celtic in the EPL

80,000 seater at celtic park. no chance. celtic might get a full house for the big four teams and thats it. do you think celtic park will be full on a cold, wet tuesday night in january for the likes of hull city or stoke. i'm a season ticket holder at man united and old trafford isn't even full anymore. even the arsenal game in august failed to sell out.
