Flybe will increase the frequency of its most popular routes from Belfast City Airport next year.

In 2016 there will be up to five daily flights to Liverpool, six flights per day to Edinburgh and Glasgow and a new daily service to Inverness and the city of Aberdeen with two flights each day.

Three daily flights to Southampton offer easy access to Southern England and as a connection for cruise travellers.

The regional airline is the largest operator at George Best Belfast City Airport and today tickets went on sale for the 2016 summer routes.

Its expanded summer schedule features 15 routes with up to 622 flights a week to UK destinations.

The new schedule features the return of weekly holiday flights to Newquay and seven rotations per day to the airline’s Manchester hub, which offers connectivity to destinations such as Rotterdam.
