Indonesia hotel named after Liverpool's Steven Gerrard
A newly-opened boutique hotel in Indonesia has been named after Liverpool football club's captain, Steven Gerrard.
Hotel "Stevie G", which debuted late last year in the city of Bandung, was christened in tribute to the indefatigable 31-year-old skipper.
The hotel's owners, the Maja House Group, are big fans of the English premier league club with its long and illustrious history and decided a Liverpool FC themed property would be a fitting way to honour the tradition.
The England and Liverpool player is believed to be the first to have a whole 22-room hotel named after him.
The Liverpool FC motif was taken a step further with one of the rooms named "This is Anfield", which boasts grey wallpaper with an LFC logo that is a particular hit with fans.
Life-sized portraits of Kenny Dalglish, the current manager and former star striker, Michael Owen, Ian Rush, Robbie Fowler and even Uruguayan Luis Suarez dominate the room.
The "This is Anfield" room that has excited the Indonesian Reds' fans most, wishing to soak up the atmosphere by staying the night or making a pilgrimage simply to have their pictures taken.
