A couple of "good" steak loving Australians found their food salvation in a small restaurant in Northern Ireland.

Derry's Sooty Olive posted a note received from two diners who said they "suffered through eight weeks of horrendously disfigured steak" before landing in the Waterside eatery.

"Your postscript recommendation of not ruining a steak by overcooking it, gave us hope," they wrote.

"Everything was spot on.

"Thanks for the best meal we've had in Europe."
