Gary Grattan reports on the new Titanic quarter and the proposed new Titanic Signature Project. Applications have been made for Big Lottery funding for the £90 million Titanic Signature Project .

The project - to be up and running by by 2012 - is being compared to Bilboa's Guggenheim or London's Tate Modern in its scope and potential.

Big Lottery assessors are visiting Belfast on July 17 and 18 to assess the project.
