John Lennon anniversary
The 8th of December is the 28th anniversary of music legend John Lennon’s death. As well as being one of the driving forces in The Beatles, he also gained worldwide fame for his subsequent solo career, his political activism, and his promotion of world peace. It was with this in mind that he and his wife Yoko Ono planned the ‘Bed in for Peace’ in 1969. The first was held in Amsterdam in March, and the second was held in May in Montreal, in the Canadian province of Quebec. This video, set in the very room at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel in which John and Yoko held the protest, takes a look the Bed in for Peace and how the events unfolded.
