Why are our electricity costs still so high when oil and gas have been low for a long time due to economic downturn. Is someone taking the Micheal. 16 pence a unit, Come on.

How can anyone take seriously an Environment Minsiter who believes the world is about 5000 years old, dinosaurs never existed and practically all scientific evolutionary fact is nonsense? Take a bow Edwin Poots. In this so called age of science and reason surely we don't have to put up with this tripe? Unfortunately we elect here in Ulster based on the Unionist/Nationalist divide, otherwise 80% of our MLA's would be working in Micky D's.

As a member of the B.N.P.I would take exception to the remarks made in this comment (Karma 17/06/09 11:49.Firstly this individual has of course linked the word fascism with the party a common smear tactic used by the gutter press, which has absolutly no foundation.
Secondly they are trying to link the events in South Belfast with the B.N.P. which there is no evidence to support.
The Regional Organiser for the party speaking on radio this morning condemed these attacks unreservedly as I do myself.
My comrades and I concur with the party view, which they are on record as saying (but the media never want to publise the fact.) don't blame the immigrants blame the Goverment's suicidal immigration policies.

So...was the person in your story on June 6th REALLY bound to a wheelchair (did he bind himself or did someone else do it?) and then ate the mushrooms? Personally, I have USED a wheelchair for mobility for over 20 years, and have never ONCE been "bound" to it. If I had, I'd have certainly telephoned some sort of law enforcement - unless, of course, I was binding myself to the wheelchair to endure some of the nastier public bus rides one can encounter. Please realize the power of your words.

I am so sick of reading British newspapers and listening to Uk radio shows who have nothing but bad things to say about the NHS and nurses. Having trained as a nurse in the uk and worked there for 5 years I had enough of constantly being abused by patients, working overtime to keep up with the demands so i left and, travelled then moved to Australia where I love my job. I have been to a few places where there are no health services or you have to pay huge fees for a poor standard of care. The nurses have a strong union to support them , they get paid a great wage and generally people are pleased to receive a free health service.
Perhaps if those who abuse the NHS got themselves a job, stopped smoking & drinking, then lost some weight the demand wouldnt be so huge on the NHS and services could be improved to help those who really need it. Perhaps then UK nurses wouldn't go overseas ensuring overseas nurses wouldn't need to fill the job vacancies left.

I'm seriously disappointed with today's (Friday 3 April) 'Beat-a-Puzzle'. It was already too easy with 2 letters given in the same word, but five letters??
You might as well print out the full answer and we needn't bother ourselves engaging our brains at all!
Let's have a challenging cryptogram, please.

I would love there to be an online access facility to view the past 100 years or so papers. I feel that providing this service would benefit the public a lot, in accessing information regarding Northern Ireland's past news and interests... rather that taking a trip to the library.

The new format Belfast Telegraph is a great improvement.
The paper immediately has more substance, the stories look more impressive and the whole layout navigates extremely well.
Addtionally the supplements look much more in keeping with the main paper rather than add ons.
The set advertisng positions give more promince to advertisers and contribute to a much tidier and planned environment.
Overall I think it's a great start.

Contrary to what your reviewer thought about the people at the Jackson Browne concert, we were not easily pleased and did not give an ovation every time he changed guitars. Noel's comments were petty and ill judged. The concert was great a success and far from dull.

Having vacationed in Ireland several times, last year we ventured into Northern Ireland. My family found the same hospitality and smiles, we have come to know. The recent murders of the 2 British soldiers raises fears that the troubles may return. I hope not, as Northern Ireland has many sites I wish to visit. The Irish B&Bs really give us a chance to know Irish families on an one on one basis.

I was delighted to stumble upon the Belfast Telegraph while surfing the net. It's now listed in my favorites and I read it almost everyday.
What never ceases to amaze me is.... even though we're seperated by thousands of miles.... we are very much alike. Same wants, needs, sorrows ect. Deep down, we are "ALL" truely brothers and sisters living on this planet just trying to survive.
May I add.... having looked through the photos in BT .... Northern Ireland has the most beautiful women on the planet.
Hopefully someday I'll visit and lift a pint (or two) to you all.

As a daughter of Erin, My great grandad James Conlon left Co. Monaghan via Belfast in 1848 for a better life in the U.S. He truly was a Pioneer, settling in the Wisconsin Territory, lead mining and hunting to survive. He became a person of note in his small community and a historian of it's past.

I understand from a friend, that you will be doing a series of Pioneer posters. I would be so pleased if the Telegraph would email those posters to me that recall Ulster's gift to the world of pioneers.

I knew Buddy Holly, and Elvis a little. I wrote article entitled Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Joe Ely at the Cotton Club in Lubbock. www.virtualubbock.com I sure wish someone would post it on your web site. I used to manage Joe Ely and sell stolen, bootleg booze at the Cotton Club.

Open letter to Sammy Wilson in response to the comments he made on BBC Radio Foyle's News at One programme on the 24th. Should the Minister for the Environment slag off the Green movement so publicly?Does he actually KNOW any Greens?Has he ever done anything positive for the environment? No, Minister, don't resign - you're on the gravy train. And it's vegetarians who don't eat meat - not Greens....
