Alexa Chung has confirmed she will be launching a debut clothing line.
The British style icon revealed her plans during an interview with Japanese fashion publication Numero Tokyo. The 28-year-old is currently in the planning stages of her label. This will be her latest progression into the fashion world, following her success as an award winning style figure, Mulberry muse and fashion ambassador.
'Yes, I'm definitely going to do that," Alexa replied when asked about her clothing line. "I'm looking into it right now."
Despite her latest appointment by The British Fashion Council to speak for the country's designers in an ambassador role, Alexa is not confident about her own design attempts. The brunette isn't sure how her creations will be regarded by fashion experts. She jokes that should her debut line be criticised then her plan is to deny she had any involvement.
"I've got nothing to lose, it's a bit of fun. In this current era of celebrity no one believes you actually design the stuff anyway, even though I sketch everything myself," Alexa modestly explained. "So if it sucks I can say I had nothing to do with it, and if it's really good I can say 'Here are the drawings, it's all my own work!'"
