Beth Ditto prefers the fashion industry to music as she meets more "weirdos" like herself.
The eccentric Gossip singer is a regular face on the fashion circuit, having walked the runway for Jean Paul Gaultier and attended numerous Fashion Week shows.
Beth - who is firm friends with Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld - is glad the fashion industry embraces her quirkiness.
"You meet more weirdos - people like me!" she exclaimed in the latest issue of UK magazine Marie Claire.
Beth is collaborating with beauty brand MAC on a limited edition collection. The 31-year-old star has also designed plus-size range for UK retail chain Evans.
Beth is proud of her fashion credentials because creativity is her first love.
"I love imagery. It's not so much about 'fashion darling', it's about the creative process," she insisted.
Beth thinks fashion designers have gone too far with outlandish creations. The singer hopes to bring an element of wearability back into the style sphere.
"There are enough designers - but good basics are missing from fashion. People get so wrapped up in looking crazy. I think that's my calling..." she said.
