Cate Blanchett wowed in a glamorous and on trend colour blocked dress at the world premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
The leading lady opted for the Antonio Berardi Resort 2013 gown as she walked the red carpet in Wellington, New Zealand, on Wednesday.
Cate looked every inch the movie star as she waved to the thousands of fans gathered to witness the highly anticipated event.
The unusual three toned gown contained a sheer red top section, a block coloured white waist segment and was finished off with a long black skirt.
The 43-year-old actress added a chunky pearl bracelet to her breezy yet elegant ensemble.
She also opted for a youthful hairstyle, showing her blonde bob swept over into a side parting adorned with a pearly slide to keep her locks out of her face.
Cate, who plays Galadriel in the movie, was accompanied by a dapper looking date in the shape of her eight-year-old son Roman, who joined her on the red carpet for pictures.
Stylish star Evangeline Lily also showed a glamorous look at the event. The former Lost actress opted for a pink sparkly minidress, and also debuted a shorter haircut. The 33-year-old actress is not featured in this film, but will play the role of Tauriel in the next two instalments of The Hobbit.
