Cate Blanchett wowed in an unusual Proenza Schouler dress at last night's Elle Women in Hollywood celebration.

The actress cut a striking figure on the white coloured carpet as she arrived at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Cate accessorised her printed shift with Roger Vivier heels and a clutch. She also added gorgeous Van Cleef & Aprels jewellery to complete her stand-out look.

During the course of the evening the actress was given special honours along with fellow Hollywood leading lady Uma Thurman.

The 19th Annual Elle Women in Hollywood Celebration included a guest list filled with other stylish stars.

Robert Pattinson attended the glitzy bash to present his Bel Ami co-star Uma with her honouree award. The 26-year-old actor was photographed with his Twilight co-star Anna Kendrick and ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart at the event.

Other renowned and elegantly dressed figures from the acting world included Sarah Jessica Parker and Susan Sarandon.

Keeping it chic at the event was Rashida Jones and The Help actress Octavia Spencer.

Making up the younger attendees was Elle Fanning, Lea Michele and The Perks of Being a Wallflower star Emma Watson who looked simple and stylish in a little black dress.
