Chris Hemsworth: I looked like child in costumes

Chris Hemsworth

Chris Hemsworth looked like "Tom Hanks at the end of Big" when he tried on his The Avengers outfits after losing so much weight.

The actor played the title role in the Marvel Studios film Thor last year. He bulked up for the role of the superhero, but later had to slim down for his most recent role as Eric the Huntsman in upcoming film Snow White and the Huntsman.

Chris is reprising his role as Thor in upcoming film The Avengers. The hunk has revealed the impact his weight change had on his newest outfits

"I went through this with my stylist for the Avengers tour and she said, 'OK, you should have a bunch of suits from last year.' I'm like, 'Nope! None of them fit!' Literally, I look like Tom Hanks at the end of the movie Big, when he's a child again," he quipped in an interview with the UK issue of Glamour magazine.

"I put on the suits and the pants completely fall off me, and the shoulders and the sleeves are down to my knuckles.

"So I've got 30 beautiful suits, Armani and Burberry and Gucci that just don't fit me. So I've got to work out what to do with them."

Chris started his acting career on Australian TV show Home and Away. The star wouldn't let the hair and make-up team on him when he was on the series.

"For three years I had embarrassing haircuts," he said. "I had a rebellious side of, 'I want to leave my hair how it is.' I look back and think, 'That's great, Chris, you looked like an idiot."
