Chris Hemsworth had "costume envy" on the set of Avengers Assemble.

The Australian actor plays hammer-wielding superhero Thor in the upcoming Marvel movie. Chris stars alongside Mark Ruffalo, who portrays Dr. Bruce Banner/ Hulk.

The pair admit they became envious of each other's garb on set.

"We had costume envy for different reasons. My costume was incredibly uncomfortable and Mark had the leotard because it was all going to be CGI. I was like, 'I'd rather be wearing that than this,'" Chris told a UK TV show.

"I had one because I thought you [Hemsworth] looked incredibly masculine and cool and strong. I was looking at him saying, 'I'd love to be wearing that.' How did I get so angry? I had to wear a green thong underneath my costume," Mark added.

Jeremy Renner stars as Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the movie. The actor teased that he felt totally differently as far as outfits were concerned.

"I had the most comfortable costume so I'm not envious of anybody," he smiled.

Scarlett Johansson portrays highly trained spy Natasha Romanoff/ Black Widow and shows off her finely honed curves in a tight-fitting catsuit. Much has been made of the beauty's costume, but Scarlett maintains she prefers the more covered-up superhero attire.

"You need some superhero out there who doesn't just fight in a bra," she explained.
