Christina Ricci jokes about NYFW stroke

Christina Ricci has joked about the effect the strange lighting at last night's Marc Jacobs show had on her.

The American fashion designer staged his main line's Fall/Winter 13 offering at the New York State Armory yesterday evening. The presentation came on the last day of New York Fashion Week after Marc delayed the show following problems with fabrics.

Christina was one of the stars to grace the front row and opted for an on-trend monochrome ensemble. She wore a tight black knitted top which came to just above her belly button and boasted white piping. The matching skirt was low-slung on her hips and fell to mid-calf, accessorised with a black-and-white stripey clutch and white chunky heels.

The catwalk show was enveloped in an amber light, which Christina was initially unsure about.

"At first I thought I was having a stroke," she laughed to WWD. "Now that I don’t smell burning, I feel that it is just the lighting."

Miley Cyrus was also at the show, wearing a red crop top with Mickey Mouse on the front and a red-and-white striped full skirt. The young star arrived a little late, meaning she was left standing at the back as the designer is renowned for starting his shows punctually.

Other stars spotted at the event included Jessica Stam, Cara Delevingne, Sofia Coppola, Debbie Harry, Jay Alexander and Rachel Zoe.

Ralph Lauren also showed yesterday, with his daughter Lauren proudly looking on from the front row with her leg encased in a cast. She hurt herself after falling over while taking her dog for a walk and has been changing the covering of her cast so it accessorises with her outfit.

London Fashion Week stars today, with a stellar front row of A-list stars expected at Monday's Burberry Prorsum show.
