City Hall celebration of timeless style for the opening night of Belfast Fashionweek

From pretty prom dresses to power suits, Mary Quant minis to Noughties Nu-rave, all types of fashions were on show last night.

The new-look City Hall was the venue for the opening of the West Coast Cooler Fashionweek with a sell-out Fashion Through The Decades show.

Fashionistas from across the city donned their Jimmy Choos to attend the show, which paid homage to 100 years of the City Hall.

The glittering gold catwalk ran the full length of the Great Room and models strutted their stuff in pieces inspired by fashions from the past.

Fashionweek organiser Cathy Martin said: “The Fashion Through The Decades show is part of the re-opening celebrations of the City Hall and we think the setting of the Great Hall couldn’t have been better. On the catwalk we saw vintage clothes and pieces from charity shops as well as current clothes inspired by the past.

“We had everything from flapper dresses from the 1920s to the psychedelic styles of the 1970s, right up to the present day.”

The glamour continues tonight with a designer show at the City Hall featuring fashions from independent retailers such as Carter, Liberty Blue and Atelier. Local designers Una Rodden, Lizzie Agnew and milliner Grainne Maher will also showcase collections alongside Madison Rose.
