Diane Kruger looked "sexy" in the opulent costumes she wore for a period movie, says her boyfriend Joshua Jackson.
The actress plays tragic French royal Marie Antoinette in Farewell, My Queen and had to wear authentic corsets, full skirts and wigs for the part.
Joshua enjoyed visiting the beautiful blonde on set because he liked to see her in the elaborate outfits.
"I definitely made the effort to go see her in the full queen regalia. It's a one-time thing in an actor's life. It was sexy - period, full stop," he was quoted as saying by People. "I mean, it was kind of a kinky fetish thing with the wigs and the corsets. I don't know how [people] survived that period. Foreplay must've been a sonofab***h. It takes a nation of millions to get those things on and off."
Diane had a great time portraying royalty, but never dreamed of being a bona fide princess in real life.
The German star explained while she enjoyed watching Britain's Prince William's wedding last year, the lifestyle of a monarch wouldn't suit her.
"I do like the royals and I definitely watched their wedding," she said. "I think it's something we can dream about in our society. I myself have never wanted to be in an ivory tower - I gotta be honest."
