Britain's Duchess of Cambridge wowed in a kimono-style dress as she arrived in Singapore for the beginning of her tour around Asia today.

The royal and her husband Britain's Prince William will act as representatives of Queen Elizabeth II on the nine-day tour to celebrate Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee.

Catherine has become known for her ever-elegant style, and the brunette beauty didn't disappoint as she touched down in Singapore. The star reportedly commissioned UK designer Jenny Packham to design the Asian-influenced dress.

The knee-skimming pale pink ensemble also features an orchid pattern which "symbolises the fact that the royal couple will be visiting the Singapore Botanical Gardens, to view an orchid designed for William's mother the Princess of Wales," writes UK publication Grazia.

Catherine wore her long locks in her signature half-up half-down style and accessorised with a cream clutch bag.

Meanwhile, the duchess has revealed how much she enjoys bargain hunting at a retail outlet in Britain - the Bicester Village in Oxfordshire.

Sadiah Bte Shahal presented Catherine with a bouquet of orchids on her arrival into the country, and the pair took time to talk about the royal's shopping habits.

"We talked about the UK and particularly about shopping at Bicester. I said I've been there and I love it and she said she does as well," Sadiah revealed, according to British newspaper The Telegraph.

"She said it's great how everything is so contained."

Catherine is set to impress with her fashion choices on the nine-day tour with her husband, as she did on her Canadian trip last year. All of the star's put-together ensembles were well-documented on the state visit, as are her sartorial choices throughout the year.
