Duchess of Cambridge wedding dress nominated for prize

Duchess of Cambridge

Britain's Duchess of Cambridge's wedding dress is in the running for the Design of the Year award.

The stunning royal is renowned for her spring wedding dress, which was designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. The elegant gown was made from ivory and white satin and was admired all over the world.

Today it has been revealed that Catherine's gown is among the contenders for the design prize.

The duchess' dress was nominated alongside almost 90 others in the annual contest which is organised by the Design Museum in London.

It is in the running for the prize along with the Olympic Torch and a pop-up cinema under a motorway in London.

The actual dress will not feature in the competition's exhibition. However, negotiations with Clarence House are in progress in regards to representing it another way.

An original sketch or samples of the fabric are the ideas that have been suggested.

Dame Vivienne Westwood is also a contender for the prize. The fashion designer's ethical clothing collection Africa has been nominated.

The exhibition will run from February 8 until July 15.

The winner will be announced at the Design Museum on April 24 2012.

This is a good time to establish a routine. Create a schedule that strikes a nice balance between your personal and professional lives. This may mean less money, but you can't put a price on happiness. You might even decide to take a job with unconventional hours so you can play sports or spend more time outdoors.More
