Eva Green sees herself in shamed fashion designer John Galliano - as they both "dress a bit too much".
The French beauty and Galliano became friendly while she was shooting the advert for the Christian Dior fragrance Midnight Poison.
Eva came to his defence when he was sacked from Dior and his eponymous label last year, after he used racist language during a drunken argument.
The actress described him as "vulnerable" and "shy" at the time - remarks she still stands by.
"Oh, yeah, he is. He's like a little bird: gentle, fragile," she told British newspaper The Telegraph, adding about his outlandish dress sense: "Lots of shy people dress a bit too much. It's just kind of an armour. People say the same thing about me."
Eva has a signature red carpet look that borders on the theatrical. The stunning star often wears dark gothic designs which are heavily embellished, and her make-up is bold and sexy.
Eva says her dress sense mirrors the audacious ensembles worn by Galliano.
"I recognise myself in [Galliano] sometimes," she added. "People think I'm so strong, but I'm very shy."
