Fashion chain’s model hunt: does your face fit?

2008 winners Carrie-Anne and Aaron

The search has begun for the new male and female faces of funky fashion retailer DV8.

Launching the model competition were last year’s winners, Carrie-Anne Burton (19) from Downpatrick and Aaron Kearney (18) from Portadown.

They beat almost 400 young hopefuls to take the 2008 title. DV8 launched the project for the first time in 2008 to search for budding models aged 17 to 30-years-old to represent the DV8 brand in all advertising online and in-store for a year.

As well as modelling for DV8’s advertising Carrie-Anne has been involved in a number of other projects, including the launch of Belfast Fashionweek, clothes shoots and fashion shows. Aaron has also participated in catwalk shows, fashion shoots and an advertising campaign for the National Trust.

Like Aaron and Carrie-Anne, the lucky winners of the ‘Face of DV8 2009’ will get a year-long contract with model agency Alison Campbell Models, £500 worth of DV8 clothes vouchers, and hair styling by award-winning salon, Paul Stafford Hairdressing, for 12 months.

Contestants do not have to have modelling experience.

Registration forms and rules are available at DV8 stores and online at www.dv8fashion.com. Auditions for the Face of DV8 will be held at DV8’s flagship store at Belfast’s Castle Place on April 16.

Gemini:

This is a good time to establish a routine. Create a schedule that strikes a nice balance between your personal and professional lives. You're the type of person who needs plenty of intellectual stimulation outside of work. If you've been spending too much time at the office, reduce your hours. This may mean less money, but you can't put a price on happiness. You might even decide to take a job with unconventional hours so you can play sports or spend more time outdoors.More
