Gwyneth Paltrow says people should work out as often as they clean their teeth.
The American actress is famously health-conscious and used to have a strict macrobiotic diet. While she has lightened that up a little, she still takes exercise seriously. Gwyneth is a devotee of trainer Tracy Anderson and doesn't understand why some people have no interest in working out.
"It's so important to incorporate fitness into your life. You have to make it so it's like brushing your teeth - just something you do every day," she told Company magazine. "If you get up 45 minutes earlier, you can run for half an hour or just stick in a fitness DVD."
The star also touched on her diet, revealing she is currently completing a cleanse. While some people would fear the idea of going without food for weeks at a time, it's not something that concerns Gwyneth.
"Well, I'm on a cleanse right now! I'm doing the Cleanse Program, which is a 21-day thing. I'm on day ten, so I'm nearly half way there," she replied, before being asked if she is sticking to the plan properly.
"Totally. I'm a very disciplined person so when I commit to something, I never waiver. I have crazy self-discipline."
The 40-year-old actress is known for her blonde mane, which has been long for the last few years. She has sported cropped tresses in the past, but it's not a look she has any plans of revisiting.
"When I was 13, I shaved the side of my head. It was the '80s! My poor parents," she laughed.
"I wouldn't go really short. I think women as they get older shouldn't do that, 'I'm middle-aged, I'm going to cut my hair' thing. Let it grow long. I want to be an old lady with long hair!"
The actress also has set ideas about fashion. Gwyneth has a bulging wardrobe and recently added to it with a bracelet by Valentino and some white Saint Laurent stilettos. She has her eye on another purchase to.
"I'd quite like a Victoria Beckham dress for meetings. I need a good office dress," she mused.
