Jessica Chastain's Oscars hair explained

Jessica Chastain's Oscars hairstyle was purposely crafted to echo the timeless glamour of her gown.

The actress's hairstylist Renato Campora instantly knew what kind of look to create for the star for last night's awards ceremony.

Renato decided on an updated version of a classic Hollywood hairdo to compliment Jessica's glittering nude-coloured Armani Privé strapless dress.

Jessica's red mane was first sectioned into a deep side parting by Renato.

He then curled the layers cut into her hair to frame her face with a full bodied curtain.

The star hairdresser also tucked Jessica's locks behind her ear on the left side of her head to highlight her Harry Winston vintage earrings.

The New York based stylist shared his step-by-step guide to creating Jessica's look with parade.com.

"First create a deep side part. Then prep damp hair [Renato used Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Boost & Lift Foaming Air Mousse], applying at the length for touchable volume," he explained.

"[Then] blow dry hair with a large round brush until it’s dry. Then spritz on a protective spray [like Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Heat Protect & Shine Spray] to shield hair while curling it. Using a half-inch curling iron, curl the ends for ten seconds, remove and then pin immediately."

"Once the hair cools, remove the pins and brush the curls out for a soft wave," he continued. "Tuck hair behind one ear and to finish, spray hair with hairspray to hold the style in place, leaving it sleek and finished."

Gemini:

Someone will steal credit for your work, which is maddening. Drawing attention to the problem will only make you look petty. You're better off accepting the situation with quiet dignity and grace. Move on to the next assignment, but make sure to sign your name to every piece of work that is submitted. Tell your boss what you are doing on a regular basis. You'll sound like a pest, but at least it's better than getting stabbed in the back.More
