Jessica Simpson has announced she will be expanding her fashion empire with a range of baby shoes that reflect her own feminine style.

The singer-turned-fashion designer is expanding her booming clothing empire into feminine shoes for infants.

The star has already made a success of her Jessica Simpson footwear line for Stride Rite which caters for stylish young girls and tweens, and the new collection of baby shoes will be an extension of this brand.

“The baby collection reflects my personal style and love of shoes,” Jessica explained to WWD.

The looks created by the style icon include super cute pink cheetah-print cowboy booties that are inspired by Jessica's country music roots.

The girly detail that is also part of Jessica's signature look can be seen in the designs such as satin Mary Jane shoes trimmed with bows and flower ornaments.

Jessica explained that the birth of her daughter Maxwell eight months ago triggered her interest in creating baby footwear.

“When Maxwell was born, I started to focus more on tiny sizes. I knew we needed to design shoes for babies,” she continued. “Maxwell has a great clothing collection, so I wanted to create perfect shoes to match. She inspires me every day, and I can’t wait until she starts telling me what she wants to wear.”

The star continued to reveal how babies have influenced her design lines. Jessica, who is expecting her second child, laughed about the item in her wardrobe she never leaves home without.

“My Marc Jacobs diaper bag," Jessica explained about her favourite style staple.

You never do anything in moderation. Attend every fun party, accept every juicy offer and try all the delectable treats spread before you. Avoid unpleasant people and activities like the plague. This should be a time of enjoyment. Leave your list of chores at home. You can always attend to these jobs at another time. If you have a chance to show your creative work to a publisher, manager or agent, go ahead. This is also a great opportunity to go on job interviews, auditions and first dates.More
