Karl Lagerfeld says the dolls in his image featuring in a Paris store window aren't to be played with.

The designer has helped create the Christmas scene being displayed in the windows of French department store Printemps. The display features many miniature Lagerfeld dolls, dressed in his signature black with dark shades.

They are seen taking photographs, drawing and posing along with pieces from the Chanel Métiers d'Arts line.

"I guess I'm a doll you can't play with," the designer told style.com at the unveiling. "In a way, I'm lucky. I don't sing, I'm not an actor, I don't make scandals, I'm just working class."

The Chanel creative director was also behind the shots for Printemps' festive campaign, which feature Freja Beha Erichsen.

Lagerfeld went on to talk about his own Christmas plans. Like many people he loves that time of year, although for a slightly different reason to most.

"Everyone I know is leaving [Paris], but I stay home because it's the only moment I can work on the Couture quietly, sketch, and take care of my books and houses - all the things I never have time to do the rest of the year. For me the ultimate luxury is to be alone… to have time for myself, not look at my watch, and do whatever I want, whenever I want," he explained.
