Katy Perry is "honoured" to have been named the new spokesperson for CoverGirl.
The American singer has become the latest spokesperson for the cosmetics brand and will feature in a series of ads to be released in Spring 2014.
One photo which has already been released shows Katy wearing fuchsia lipstick and minimal eye make-up as she looks into the distance.
The 28-year-old star couldn't contain her excitement over her new status and announced the role to her followers on Twitter.
"BEAUTIFUL news to share w/you all. Today is my 1st day as a @COVERGIRL! See what happens when you let the light in? #COVERGIRLKATY (sic)" she gushed.
Katy, who already has her own fragrances and eyelash line, is thrilled to be a part of the campaign. She is known for her extravagant looks and loves to express herself through different products.
"In addition to music, I've always considered make-up to be a powerful creative avenue of self-expression," she said in a statement. "I'm honoured to partner with CoverGirl and share more colours and textures of my approach to beauty to inspire my audience."
The products are developed by make-up artist and CoverGirl's global brand director Pat McGrath. VP and General Manager of the company, Esi Eggleston Bracey, thinks Katy is the perfect model for the line.
"Katy is the embodiment of a true CoverGirl - someone we root for, identify with, and get inspiration from," he added. "We have been admirers of her music and her style for a long time, and are looking forward to a beautiful journey together."
The line has promised a "breadth of bold new beauty looks" for next year.
