Kelly Clarkson turns up to rehearsals looking like a "hot mess".
The 30-year-old rose to fame when she won talent show American Idol and became a global success thanks to her powerful voice.
The star insists she hasn't changed since winning the competition and still has a relaxed attitude when it comes to her look.
"I am still completely the same!" she laughed to the BBC.
"That's what people always say when I run into [the people] from Idol. I still show up in curlers with no make-up on and slippers looking like a hot mess for rehearsals! Usually the girls are all done up and I'm like, 'It's rehearsals! I'll do that for the show!' I'm the same girl."
Kelly has passed on her singing expertise as a guest mentor on America's The Voice talent contest.
The set-up of the show allows candidates to audition without the judges seeing them and potentially judging them on their looks.
Kelly believes the blind aspect of the competition is a welcome change to other talent shows.
"Oh I think [people being judged on their looks has] been going on for years, that's nothing new and that's very much the industry," she observed.
"And that's why it's a breath of fresh air with The Voice. It's just exciting. You turn round and it's this little white dude and he sounds like a big black soulful man. And you think, 'Oh, I would never have thought that's gonna come out of you!' That's what's so captivating about the idea."
