Kim Kardashian has been advised to try wearing maternity dresses in bright shades "like poppy or deep iris" to revamp her pregnancy style.
The reality TV star has been the subject of scrutiny since announcing that she is expecting her first child with rapper Kanye West.
So far the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has opted to wear sexy figure hugging dresses by designers such as Dolce & Gabbana.
Pregnancy expert and maternity clothing designer Rosie Pope has shared what kind of looks she thinks Kim should be pulling off as her baby bump continues to grow.
"Kim has a fabulously curvy figure that will work beautifully with a lot of maternity clothes. I know she’s been wearing a lot of black recently, but I would love to see her in a long sleeve cinched dress in a bright shade like Poppy or Deep Iris," Rosie explained to StyleCaster. "If she wants to show off a bit more cleavage, I think a great option would be something slinky, with a deep but classic neckline."
Kim has come under fire for stepping out in sexy, skintight clothes since announcing she is expecting. Rosie, who is the star of US TV show Pregnant in Heels, discussed whether or not such items are appropriate pregnancy attire and tactfully explained that spandex is fashionable at the moment.
"I think the pregnancy bump is a beautiful thing and I love that Kim wants to celebrate it with her style and show the world her curves. The key is my maternity style mantra: 'If you wouldn’t wear it before, don’t wear it now'. While Kim is shopping for maternity clothes, she should simply stay true to this mantra and buy pieces that suit her style, but are adapted to fit her bump and growing curves. Kim is lucky - it’s very in vogue to wear figure-hugging maternity clothes in tight spandex materials, which is right up her alley. She should make sure to keep her signature whites, laces, and leathers, and continue revealing her best assets (just not all of them at once!)," Rosie said.
Kim recently poked fun at her wardrobe critics by going along with a comedy sketch for a TV show that saw her remove her stilettos and high glamour look in favour of a "make-under" courtesy of Hollywood icon Betty White. The 90-year-old gives 32-year-old reality star Kim a complete style overhaul in the clip, dressing her in an ill-fitting navy suit jacket and yellow blouse so that she is transformed into Betty's twin.
