Lady Gaga’s Brits ‘hat’ cost £6,000
Friday Feb 19 2010
Lady Gaga's eye-catching outfit at the Brits may have been the most talked-about part of the night, but it certainly didn't come cheap.
The elaborate white headpiece for her Marie Antoinette-inspired outfit cost almost £6,000. The intricate headpiece was designed by the superstar's new favourite designer, Irishman Philip Treacy.
“Philip has a milliner who works through the night here so it would have taken nearly two days to create,” a spokesperson for the Galway designer said.
“That was one of our couture pieces and those prices start at £5,000.”
Tuesday's Brit Awards was the second international event for which Gaga trusted Treacy to design her outfit. The two became close after being introduced by the late Alexander McQueen.
