Blake Lively is happy to watch fashion shows online, but thinks couture needs to be appreciated in person.
Designers like to show their collections in advance, with labels around the world debuting their Spring/Summer 14 lines recently.
"It was actually really funny leading up to it because I was saying: 'I wonder what the collection is like, I wonder if it will be bright, or dark,' and someone said: 'Well it might be bright because it's spring,' and I said: 'No, it's fall,' and they said: 'It's spring!'" she laughed to Vogue.co.uk.
"And of course they're not showing fall collections in the fall! It's funny, as involved as I am in fashion and as much a part of my life as it is, I still thought: 'Oh!'"
Blake, 26, is known for her gorgeous looks and stunning blonde hair.
The actress has starred in campaigns for Gucci and Chanel, but her hectic schedule has previously prevented her from sitting front row at runways.
"I've always been working on Gossip Girl in the fall so I've never been to a fashion week aside from in the spring - I've never seen a spring collection! I came out of high school and went into working on Gossip Girl straight afterwards, so it's a really new thing for me to have free time in the fall," she grinned.
When she doesn't have time to be there in person, Blake likes to catch up on new collections online.
However, there are certain presentations she'd never miss.
"I don't know; I like a quiet life. And you can think: 'What does this dress look like, how does it photograph,'" she said of virtual shows.
"But I really like going to couture shows - the clothes are all beaded and embroidered and there are details that are alive in couture that just don't translate in photos."
