Michelle Rodriguez "navigating in stilettos" was funny to watch, says director Paul W.S. Anderson.
The 34-year-old actress is famed for her tough girl roles in Hollywood, appearing in movies including The Fast and the Furious, Battle: Los Angeles and S.W.A.T.
Michelle is reprising her role as Rain Ocampo in Resident Evil: Retribution. Filmmaker Anderson says it was funny to see the brunette star glam up for the character's transition.
"With Michelle, I've never met a woman who feels more at home wearing a pair of combat pants and carrying a heavy machine gun. But when I talked to Michelle about returning for this movie, she said she was really interested in exploring different aspects of herself as a woman in her movie persona," he told Flicks and Bits.
"We developed a character for her that is more traditionally feminine. The biggest challenge for her was wearing a pair of high heels. It was fun to see Michelle navigate in stilettos. She was unsteady on them, which shows a completely fresh side of her."
Michelle has previously revealed how she enjoyed relaxing between fight sequences on set.
"The stunt double was doing all the wirework, so I didn't get to have any of that fun. I'm not a professional martial artist, so who am I kidding? But, it was fun to watch her. I was sitting there, eating my snacks and saying, 'That looks cool! I wish I could do that!'' she laughed.
