Nina Dobrev's failsafe wardrobe item is a "red hot" dress.
The 23-year-old star of the Vampire Diaries always feels her best in a slinky scarlet gown.
Nina isn't a frivolous shopper and prefers to buy pieces she'll wear again and again.
"A red dress is red hot," Nina explained to American magazine Self. "I wore a red Donna Karan gown to the 2011 Emmys. I felt so good in it! I love the colour! I buy a few pieces that are meaningful, versus a lot of things. My mom says only buy something you think is special enough to be worth three times its cost."
The Bulgarian-born star discussed what she finds most sexy. She has changed her body by doing yoga, but claimed she is not a fan of Hollywood's obsession with being thin.
"Yoga changed my body 100 per cent. It tones everything and leans you out. Dancer's pose is amazing. It works every muscle! And you have to focus. If your mind is somewhere else, you'll fall," Nina revealed.
"Starving to be skinny isn't my thing. When I don't eat, it affects my mood! On-set, I fuel up with small meals and I'm always grabbing high-protein snacks, like almonds. Chai lattes with espresso also keep me going."
The Perks of Being a Wallflower actress' motivation to exercise increases if she has a holiday or photoshoot coming up.
"I have a flat tummy, but I'm not rock hard. If I'm going to be in a bikini, I'll train more and skip desserts for a couple of weeks. But usually, I work out to feel good," Nina said.
"Exercising gives me endorphins and energy."
