Northern Ireland's next top models Kristen Gillespie and Lloyd McDonald were announced as the Faces of M Club during a glitzy ceremony at the venue last night.

A record number of entrants entered the competition to find the official 'faces' of the University Quarter nightclub.

"We thought last year's competition was amazing, but this year the number of entries and the standard was even higher," said Paul Meekin.

"We had more than 400 entries, which really shows just how much people really wanted to win the competition."

Paul and the team from Partners Hair and Beauty joined forces with Tracey Hall of Style Academy to produce the event's fashion show.

Last year's winners, Ruth Jackson and Daniel Smyth, also took part in the show as professional models before handing over their crowns to the new winners.

The two winners each received a first prize package that includes a photographic portfolio, one year's free hairdressing, an outfit from Clockwork Orange, designer shoes, a 12 month modelling contract and 12 months free entry to the M Club.

The judging panel included Gemma Garret, Cool FM's Pete Snodden, stylist Sara O'Neill and Daily Mirror showbiz reporter Paul Martin.

Mr Meekin added: "It's been a long time since Belfast witnessed such a glamorous event, with hair, beauty and fashion shows and clubbers dancing the night away afterwards."

"The judges had a really difficult decision to make, as all the finalists looked fantastic. And, for me, it was great to have been a part of something which shows the positive side of Belfast and celebrates the great talent we have here."
