Olivia Palermo feels fortunate that she "understood" jewellery at an early age.

The glossy star of The City says her education about how to put together an amazing outfit began when she was just a child. She thanks her family, who share her love of accessories, for promoting their use to her at an impressionable age.

"I love a great accessory. I think my mother and my aunt have a very good background in jewellery," Olivia explained to the American edition of OK! magazine. "So I was fortunate to get a good understanding of it at a young age."

The 26-year-old revealed the secret to her impeccable style at the launch of the Carrera y Carrera jewellery collection Musica, which was held in Moscow.

Now a respected fashion designer, Olivia dazzled at the event with her own well put together ensemble of Miss Dior bag, Fire dragon bracelet and sparkly Danza ring.

She says keeping accessories in a clutter free jewellery box is key to looking as good as her.

"I love a great earring, a big cuff and a cocktail ring," Olivia revealed. "I keep everything really organised. It's a great way to put together the rest of an outfit."
