Rihanna is surrounded by "a special kind of energy" on her new TV fashion show.
The superstar singer is executive producer of her own sartorial series Styled To Rock, beginning in the UK in August. As well as appealing to her fans already firmly in favour of Rihanna, the show has won the 24-year-old beauty some new celebrity admirers. Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts - who appears as a mentor - raved about Rihanna's influence on the TV show.
"Working on a show with a megastar like Rihanna as executive producer means a special kind of energy surrounds it," Nicola told Look magazine.
"I'm a huge fan of hers, everyone is! It was fantastic working with her. She couldn't have been more lovely, she's a real laugh."
Nicola and Rihanna are joined by stylist Lysa Cooper and British designer Henry Holland on the show. The flame-haired singer says all the mentors gelled well together as they are all style savvy in their own different ways. It is the individual mentor's role to guide the contestants through a weekly battle to create a winning outfit for a pop star or band.
"We each brought something unique to the process because we have different jobs and our own distinct perspective," Nicola said. "Rihanna's such a style icon because she is truly original."
