His Royal Highness the Prince of Cambridge has inspired some of the world's top designers.
The newest member to the British royal family was born at 4.24pm on Monday July 22, weighing a healthy 8lbs 6oz.
The first child from stylish trendsetter Catherine and her husband Prince William has already sparked interest from the world's top designers.
French fashion house Dior have created an entire Baby Dior collection around the idea of gifts suitable for the new royal.
“Like fairies leaning over a cradle, Baby Dior was inspired by Mr. Dior’s lucky charms to adorn the future newborn’s outfits,” the house said to WWD about their Petits Bonheurs Collection.
“Cashmere knitting, coming in a beautiful leather suitcase, was twisted with four-leaf clovers to keep the baby warm. Each piece, embellished with embroideries and lace, was delicately handmade, requiring hours of work.”
Other designers who have joined the craze for kitting out the newborn are Christian Lacroix who has sketched a regal pram, Nicole Miller who has designed a Union Jack quilt and Vera Wang who has made a stylish rattle for the third in line to the throne.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expected to make their first appearance with the child later today.
UK newspaper the Guardian has predicted what the trio will wear.
"Our best guess is this: royal baby will do ecru cashmere, William will do smart modern father in rolled-up pale blue shirt sleeves, chinos and lace-up shoes - despite the heat. Kate will do a high-street pistachio dress with a printed blanket style scarf around her neck [an update on pashmina style] with ballet flats," the publication predicts.
