A spectacular one-off fashion show is coming to Dungannon as part of a week-long celebration to mark the opening of Hill of the O’Neill this autumn.

Former Miss Northern Ireland and Dungannon local Joanne Salley will host a chic, high-end catwalk extravaganza on Tuesday 25 September which will showcase the hottest collections from both Dungannon town centre and the surrounding area’s independent boutiques and high street retailers along with the ever-popular Linen Green. Lucky ladies of all ages and shopping budgets who manage to snap up one of the £8 tickets will enjoy a sneak preview of the new season collections from almost twenty well-established, Northern Ireland renowned outlets. The most covetable trends for fall hitting the catwalk on the night will include purple power; pretty peplums; lavish leather pieces; bold brocade; sassy statement-making adornments and embellishments and the most glamorous dresses of the party season.

The celebratory week also sees the arrival of the new Ranfurly House Arts and Visitor Centre that will deliver a gateway to the historic Hill of The O’Neill in Dungannon town. The new centre and landscaped hill and park have been created with £5.5 million pounds of investment from Heritage Lottery, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council. The newly refurbished Ranfurly House Arts and Visitor Centre will boast a multi-media exhibition area, tourism information centre, coffee station, workshop areas and a 100-seat black box theatre space.

Mayor Cllr Phelim Gildernew comments: “As part of the ‘Linen Triangle’ Dungannon has played an integral part in the history of Northern Ireland’s fashion industry through the development of quality fabrics and textiles. I am delighted that this creative flair continues to this day with an outstanding range of stylish retailers in the town as well as some of Ireland’s top designers at the nearby Linen Green. Heels on the Hill is set to be a fashion furore not to be missed!”

Heels on the Hill kicks off at the Festive Hill Marquee at 7.30pm on Tuesday 25 September 2012 and ladies will be treated to a fabulous free goody bag. Tickets cost £8 each and are available now from the following Dungannon outlets: Killymaddy Tourist Information Centre (028 8776 7259), Dungannon Leisure Centre – cash only (028 8772 0370/ 028 8772 0371) and Gene Stuart Records (028 8772 5286).
