Victoria Beckham has gushed about her "very special" friend Valentino Garavani.
The former Spice Girl joined a host of fashion's A-list who gathered at the Italian Embassy in London to honour the iconic designer last night.
The gathered style icons, who included Elizabeth Hurley and Dita Von Teese, were celebrating the opening of Valentino's retrospective at London's Somerset House.
"I don't go out very much - I'm not social - so when I do go out, it's always for something or someone very special," Victoria joked to WWD. "Valentino has been a real friend to David [husband] and myself, he's entertained us in his houses, and he's just a wonderful man - an inspiration."
Earlier in the evening guests had viewed the Valentino: Master of Couture exhibition, which contains a selection of handmade creations spanning five decades.
Victoria, who was dressed in an orangey-red coloured two piece suit from her own label, had visited the London College of Fashion the same day.
The 38-year-old trend setter was seen wearing the skirted suit in next season's hottest shade as she graced the fashion school with an appearance.
Victoria completed the ensemble with a pair of black heels that featured cut-out sections and pulled her hair back into a ponytail.
She joined British fashion writer Colin McDowell as they passed on some wise words to the next generation of designers at the college.
"Thank you Colin McDowell and the inspirational students and staff at @LCFLondon, it was a great evening x vb (sic)," Victoria tweeted.
Earlier this week, the designer presented her brand's spring collection at US store Neiman Marcus locations in Las Vegas, Beverly Hills and Dallas.
