Whitney Port felt it was "really important" to show people she loves fashion design.

The 27-year-old rose to fame on reality series The Hills and her spin-off show The City before launching her clothing line Whitney Eve in 2008.

However she insists fashion was always her first priority and she wanted to portray that when promoting her work on her TV shows.

"I mean that's what I always wanted to do regardless of the whole TV thing which was never my forte anyway," she told Australian radio's The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

"It was really important for me to show people that this is what I love doing."

Whitney is set to showcase the fourth collection from her label at New York Fashion Week in September and the brand is being launched globally in Australia, Sweden and Norway later this year. Whitney is currently Down Under promoting her line at Australian Fashion Week. She admits her catwalk show ran into some difficulties.

"It was crazy, There so much going on," she said.

"We had four changes. It was hectic but we pulled it off."

Whitney is based in Los Angeles where she is working on her latest designs. She also recently unveiled her Bits and Bobs by Whitney Eve jewellery range look book which includes pieces the she made herself using vintage finds. The pieces will be available this fall.
