Whitney Port is embarrassed that she once left home looking like "a ladybug".
The TV star-turned-designer prides herself on looking immaculate whenever she ventures outside. However, her polished style has taken some work and she's horrified when she thinks of some of the outfits she's put together.
"A couple will always come back to haunt me. They were both at the start of my career when I didn't realise that something that looks decent in real life doesn't always photograph well," she recalled. "I once wore a red dress with black polka dots, boots and stockings. I looked like a ladybug!"
Whitney jets all over the world for her work and that impacts the kind of pieces she creates. She gets design ideas all the time and is a big fan of the looks which she sees outside of America.
"I read a lot of magazines. The ones outside of the States are usually the better ones and because I'm constantly travelling, I pick up fashion magazines all over the world," she told Company magazine.
"I love, love, love floral prints. Any prints in fact. I also like flats that have a menswear aesthetic to them, but can still be styled with a flirty, floral dress."
