Get the look: Bringing linen back home with style
Friday Feb 17 2012
Northern Ireland interior designer Emma Johnston has just launched her signature home collection, using the finest quality Irish linen.
Inspired by the highly successful Emma Johnston Interior Design service, the Home collection has been created to supply simple, timeless pieces including cushions, headboards, bed boxes and ottomans.
Designed and manufactured in Ireland using the finest quality 100% pure Irish linen, the collection comes in a soft palette range.
Emma Johnston is an experienced interior designer who honed her trade in London with renowned designers Jane Churchill and Percy Bass Ltd. Designing interiors for residential and commercial properties in London and Ireland, Emma was inspired to create her own range of products with real integrity and discernible provenance.
Emma said: “On my return home to Northern Ireland I was truly shocked by the lack of local high quality designed pieces, especially with Ireland’s legacy of producing the finest linen. The reality was that if I wanted to use pieces that were beautifully designed and that would stand the test of time I would have to create them myself — which is what I’ve done. This has led me to work with artisans who share my desire and passion for true style and shun the ‘throw-away’ culture our homes have become accustomed to.”
Each Emma Johnston Home collection piece is carefully created to offer an interior-designed finish, while remaining competitively priced and having the satisfaction of not being mass produced or shipped across the globe. Local production means delivery time is considerably less than products produced overseas, allowing delivery on all products to be expected within four weeks from order.
Cushions start from £45, headboards from £345, bed boxes from £450 and ottomans from £465 (inclusive of fabric and VAT). The introductory home collection is available from the website www.emmajohnston.com and by appointment at Emma Johnston Interior Design, Milbank, Drone Hill Road, Corbet, Co Down, BT32 5JN, tel 07779 667 317 or email emma@emmajohnston.com.
