In Pictures: Fate awards 2011 at Belfast's Europa Hotel
Alex Reid, Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton and X Factor’s Katie Waissel were among the guests who took to the red carpet at the fifth annual Fate Awards in Belfast last night.
Jordan's soon-to-be ex-husband Reid rubbed shoulders with politician turned dancing diva Ann Widdecombe, while handsome father and son duo Larry and George Lamb turned female heads at the entertainment and hospitality awards at the Europa Hotel.
A record number of newcomers were shortlisted for awards.
Michael Mervyn-Jones, Publisher of Fate Magazines, said: “We are amazed that in such difficult trading times that we had the strongest newcomer category in the awards history with 10 venues across Northern Ireland being shortlisted.
“Each year I think the build-up to the Fate Awards is more exciting than the year before and the run up to the fifth annual Fate Awards has been by far the most exciting yet.
“Our very own Patrick Kielty was the obvious choice to host this year’s awards which we saw as an opportunity for us to applaud the initiative and risk that those in the industry have taken in these challenging financial times.
“And it was only fitting therefore that in the year that we are supporting the Lyric Theatre and in which Belfast has been announced as the host city for the MTV Awards, we should make a special effort to invite as many celebrities to the event as we could, in order to really celebrate the industry’s success.”
