Vikram Pawar is proving himself the perfect baby to his doting family — a good sleeper and eater.
The baby boy has been the delight of his parents, Pravin and Sonali, and proud big sister since he came into the world at Antrim Area Hospital weighing a healthy 8lbs 3ozs.
Pravin was by his wife’s side as Vikram was delivered by caesarean section and said he couldn’t be a prouder dad to the little bundle of joy and the couple’s eldest child Shreya (4).
The Pawars, who are originally from India but have lived in Antrim town for the last seven years, were full of praise for Antrim Area’s medical and midwifery teams after Vikram’s pre-arranged delivery went incredibly smoothly.
“They were great, both the doctors and midwives, they were very helpful,” said a relieved Pravin.
The Pawars, who both work for the National Trust, were delighted to bring Vikram home soon after his birth and he has been settling in well to their busy family life as Sonali recovers well.
Pravin described his son as a “healthy, content child” who hasn’t tested the patience of his doting parents by refusing to go to sleep and being fussy about his feeds.
“He is a really good sleeper, a great eater, too,” said Pravin.
When it comes to the care of the new arrival, Shreya has been more than keen to help out with her baby brother.
Her dad said she has adapted well to being a big sister, providing the newborn with an endless supply of love and care.
“She loves her baby brother and has been a great help to us,” said her father.
